My story

My granny always lit up a room. Whether she was sipping a pornstar martini, cheering on Manchester City, or sharing one of her many, many stories, she brought so much warmth, laughter and love to everyone around her.

Sadly, after a long and incredibly brave fight with cancer, we lost our queen in March.

During those final weeks, the kindness and care we received from Macmillan Cancer Support meant everything to us.

The nurses helped us look after my granny at home with such gentleness and compassion, and it made such a difficult time that little bit easier for all of us. We will never forget it.

So this June and July, I am taking on the Swim It challenge, and due to your overwhelming support, I will double the challenge and swim the width of the English Channel and back! Raising money from Macmillan, in honour of my Granny.

I used to swim a lot when I was younger, I was even part of a synchronised swimming team, but it has been a very long time since I have properly been in a pool, unless it has been on holiday with a cocktail in hand. So this is going to be a real challenge for me.

If you are able to donate, even a small amount, it would mean so much. Every penny will help Macmillan Cancer continue to support families like ours when they need it most.
